Set in the Sierra de Mijas mountain range, with spectacular views of the stunning Andalucian countryside, La Cala's magnificent 54-hole resort offers an idyllic retreat just 20 minutes from Marbella and only 30 minutes from Málaga’s international airport. The three magnificent 18-hole championship courses at La Cala – América, Asia and Europa – have all been designed by renowned golf course architect Cabell B. Robinson, and they guarantee a truly exhilarating experience.

Asia Course

Formerly known as the South Course, this is the oldest course at La Cala Resort and also the most challenging – and, consequently, the most highly respected by golf professionals.

It features short, narrow fairways and four par-5 holes which require well-refined skills to play well, especially on the short approach shots.

The holes that require particularly special expertise are the 10th, with its classic design, the 3rd and 14th, with their hazards, and the 5th and the 18th. Playing well on these holes is the key to ensuring a good score.

América Course

Previously known as the North Course, América enjoys spectacular views of the Sierra de Ojén and the Mediterranean.

It is a wide course with few bunkers, which makes it a relatively easy test. The main difficulty lies in its hilly topography, with bush-covered slopes and small elevated greens, which means correct club selection is paramount. There are water hazards on the 9th and 16th holes.

Europa Course

This course is a little wider than the other two at La Cala Resort. Due to its design, with wide fairways and flatter terrain, it is the ideal course for medium-level golfers. It has a main bridge and four other smaller bridges for crossing the Ojén river that meanders around the course, as well as tunnels for buggies. The 14th hole is at the limit for a par-3 (233 metres), while the par-5 11th is the longest at 524 metres.

Academy, Restaurant, Spa, Football, Tennis, Pádel...

La Cala Golf Academy is located within the resort complex. Multilingual professionals provide individual and group classes, for both beginners and more experienced golfers who want to continue improving their game. Golf professionals are available to pass on their expertise through a wide variety of programs for adults and for children at the Juniors Summer Camp.

La Cala Resort offers accommodation and facilities of the highest standard, including a 107-room hotel with excellent bars and restaurants. Last March, the resort opened its new clubhouse, now called "The Clubhouse Bar & Restaurant", with a menu based on top-quality, zero-kilometre products.

The new restaurant, which completes renovations made to the terrace last year, is now a modern, light-filled space with views of the golf course, the hotel and the natural surroundings of this outstanding resort located in the heart of the Costa del Sol. To complement the refurbished facilities, executive chef Brian Deegan has designed a new menu that incorporates more complex dishes alongside the traditional La Cala clubhouse fare.

With one of the most comprehensive hydrothermal treatment centres in Europe, combined with a variety of relaxing treatment options, La Cala Resort's luxurious spa facilities offer guests and visitors alike the perfect place to escape and chill-out. Other leisure amenities include a FIFA-standard football pitch, an athletics circuit, a gymnasium, and pádel, tennis and squash courts.

According to a vote by members of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), La Cala is one of the resorts that offers "the best experience and service for its golf travelling clients", an honour that only eight other resorts in Spain received in this year's awards. The accolade follows recent recognition by the industry leading Golf World Top 100 Rankings, which named La Cala as the third best resort in Spain, the leading 4-star resort in Spain and number 13 in continental Europe.
