Riviera Maya as prizes in the grand finale, was once again played at the magnificent Royal Novo Sancti Petri course in Cádiz province.

The resort has two golf courses, and croquet, tennis and pádel tennis courts, as well as Iberostar hotels next to the course and beside La Barrosa, one of the finest beaches in Spain. On this occasion the Centro course was used for the competition, unlike in previous editions, when the Mar y Pinos course was played.

Designed by the legendary Seve Ballesteros, the course is similar to his other designs in that each nine comprises three par-threes, three par-fours and three par-fives, so the opportunities for birdies and evolving scores are accentuated.

The shorter course was played – from the yellow and red markers – in anticipation of a strong Levante (easterly) wind that was forecast and did eventually arrive punctually. Playing either with or against the wind put players' concentration and accuracy to the test with each stroke. Nevertheless, the wind did not prevent the competition from progressing normally and in good conditions, and the pace of play was adequate.

The greens were in excellent condition and the players enjoyed a perfectly presented course.

After the competition, a cocktail reception was arranged and the prize-giving ceremony was presided over by the resort’s general manager, Rafael Hernández Alcalá, assisted by Odalis Gómez Reyes, who was in charge of what proved to be a perfect running of the tournament at all times.
