La Reserva Club Sotogrande, an extraordinary design by Cabell B. Robinson and one of the golfing jewels in the Cádiz municipality of San Roque, once again hosted a hugely successful leg of the Andalucía Golf Challenge Circuit.

The course, one of the finest on the Costa del Sol, was in excellent condition. Everything was impeccable: the fairways, rough and bunkers and, above all else, the greens, with a speed that not everyone is used to. In short, all the players were amazed with the course.

At the end of the competition, which brought together nearly one hundred players, an excellent cocktail reception was served in the Andalucian-style interior patio, which is shaded and has a fountain in the centre The prize-giving ceremony was presided over by course director Óscar Checa, while Jesús Porro, a sponsor of the Circuit through his company Viviendo del Trading, once again participated in the event and even presented himself with the prize for second place – he now leads the ranking.

The scratch and category one and two winners each won a place in the final of the Circuit, which is organised by Andalucía Golf/España Golf magazine and (in October) will determine the winners of five fabulous trips to the Riviera Maya.

The La Reserva event was the 19th of as many as 30 tournaments scheduled to be held during the 13th edition of this hugely popular open amateur circuit, organised by Andalucía Golf/España Golf magazine. The Circuit covers all Andalucian provinces, in addition to other areas of central Spain, with the majority of events being held at top courses on the Costa del Sol.

The Circuit’s grand finale, which will decide the five winners of trips to the Mexican Caribbean, will be held at Almenara on 30 September, followed by a gala dinner at Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús in Marbella.

Access to the final will be direct for the winners of each category and the leading scratch player in all the qualifying tournaments, while the rest of the places in the final will be awarded based on the Benahavís Ranking, calculated from points obtained in each leg.

The next events will be on 28 July at Los Arqueros, 5 August at Novo Sancti Petri and 17 August at El Paraíso.
