The K Club has just been selected as Ireland’s Leading Golf Resort, awarded by The World Travel Awards. Described as the \'Oscars\' of the travel and tourism industry by The Wall Street Journal, the World Travel Awards represents the ultimate accolade in the travel industry. This year, a phenomenal 185,000 industry professionals participated in the voting process which is both monitored and independently audited. Launched in 1993 the awards are regarded as the very highest international accolade that a travel product could hope to win.

This is the ninth year in a row for The K Club to be awarded this prestigious title and is testament to the resort’s outstanding offering. It’s been a phenomenal few weeks for The K Club who just two weeks ago was awarded a Gold Medal by Hotel and Catering Review for Best Wine Experience and just last week CNN included The K Club in its top ten golf resorts of the world. Prior to this year’s Ryder Cup, Sky Sports viewers also voted The K Club as the best Ryder Cup ever due in no small part to the fantastic Irish fans who really created the electric atmosphere.

CEO and General Manager of The K Club, Michael Davern said, “we are really thrilled to win this award, we are continuing to deliver the highest standards in golf and overall customer experience and this award really recognises the great work of our golf, green keeping and landscaping teams. I would also like to acknowledge the great support of our members and customers who are integral to our Resort and continue to help us strive for the highest possible standards.”

The K Club is a multifaceted resort set on 550 acres on the banks of the River Liffey in Straffan, Co. Kildare. Just 30 minutes from Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre, the resort includes a 69 bedroom hotel, two Arnold Palmer designed championship golf courses, K Spa and several restaurants and bars. The resort has staged 13 European Opens and the Ryder Cup in 2006. Winner of several accolades for both its hotel and golf offerings, The K Club is renowned as one of the world’s premier golfing destinations.
