The complex covers 122 hectares, and has been designed and built with the utmost attention to detail, especially as regards respecting the environment and ensuring efficient use of available energy resources. Furthermore, it was the chosen site of prominent professional golfers, such as “Seve” Ballesteros, to live and play on this impressive 18-hole golf course designed by Cabell B. Robinson.

The complex is also equipped with a Club House, a golf academy with bilingual professionals a specialist shop, cafeteria. There is also very well-kept with green spaces.

Valle Romano Golf. Valle Romano Golf course combines features that make it unique in terms of design, location and as a model of sustainability. It not only complies with the regulations in force governing environmental matters, but priority has also been given in the course of its construction to preserving as much surface area of vegetation as possible, so that it may serve as a refuge for native flora and fauna.

This is an exceptional 18-hole course, built in accordance with the most stringent standards of quality as set out by the United States Golf Association of America, with a \"Tifsport\" lawn certified by the University of Georgia, and equipped with a very sophisticated watering system that uses state-of-the-art technology.

The Valle Romano golf course is the brainchild of Cabell B. Robinson, one of the most renowned designers of golf courses in the world. Among the projects he has carried out are numerous prestigious golf courses in Spain, France, Morocco, Switzerland, Portugal, Cyprus and Italy.

This course is ready to enter the European Circuit, with fairways designed to suit players of all levels and large greens. Robinson has designed a course that is located in the least abrupt part of the estate, which ranges from level 1 16 to 50.

One of the aims behind this course is that it should be able to be enjoyed by all types of player, ranging from those with the lowest handicaps to those with the highest. To this end, an average 5 tee platforms per hole and some large greens have been built (the latter with an average surface area of 500 square metres, although they go up to 1,000 square metres). The greens, which have gentle yet very lengthy slopes with a great number of flag positions, ensure that each hole on the course can turn out to be either easy or extremely difficult.

The fact that this is a course suited to all types of player, together with the excellent level of maintenance, good facilities, an outstanding location (the sea can be seen from every hole) and a major commitment on the part of all the staff who

form part of the project, ensures that it meets all the requirements for organizing any type of competition.

As affirmed Ildefonso Esquivel, director of Valle Romano Golf \"the customer who comes repeats again and again, because leaves satisfied and likes the course\".

THIS IS THE ROUND

The Valle Romano Golf, is a pampered course in terms of its design with its own personality, while at the same time remaining natural. A good example of this personality is that the 18 holes constitute a tribute to our champions, men and women golfers who have written many chapters in the history of Spanish golf with their triumphs. Their names will always be recalled at Valle Romano.

EQUIPMENT

Valle Romano Golf has incorporated new services in line with the quality and efficiency that characterize this golf course in Estepona. On the one hand, a GPS system has been fitted on 40 buggies as a tool to help both operative control of the course itself and for players who are using these vehicles. On the other hand, a wooden booth has been placed on the green at hole 8 with an interphone that has a direct line to the restaurant, enabling a snack to be requested without interrupting play.

These new services constitute a further step in terms of the level of quality and added value offered by Valle Romano to its golf players, enabling the course to further confirm its status as a top reference point on the Costa del Sol. The new facilities reinforce the facilities already available at the course, which boast – among other things – full state-of-the-art medical facilities including an ambulance buggy and a semi-automatic desfibrillator.

Ildefonso Esquivel, the course manager, says that the GPS “have focused on two aspects: on the one hand, this constitutes another improvement in terms of the service we are offering over our competitors and, on the other, provides us with very specific operative control on a day-to-day basis.

Golf players at Valle Romano can allow themselves a culinary break without losing even a minute of play. A wooden booth with an interphone has been fitted on the green of the 8th hole for such purpose with a direct line to the restaurant. There is a menu in this booth that contains sandwiches, various sweet and savoury appetizers, soft drinks and energy drinks that players can order as they pass through this part of the course.  They will receive what they have ordered quickly and comfortably on the green of the 9th hole, which enables the 18 holes on the course to be completed and players’ strength to be regained by enjoying an excellent snack prepared by staff from the Club House restaurant, without the need to lose even a minute of play.
