Royal Sevilla Golf Club, the host course of major international championships including the 2004 World Cup, the 2009 Andalucía Open and the Spanish Open in 2008, 2010 and 2012, has once again shone brightly as the setting for a new leg of the SAN MIGUEL ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE-Destination Dominican Republic by Globalia Circuit, which this year is celebrating its 14th edition.

The huge interest shown in experiencing José María Olazábal's magnificent design was evidenced by the fact that the sold-out sign had to be hung up well in advance, with 160 players taking part in the tournament. The condition of the fairways, impossible to improve, and the impeccable and very fast greens delighted participants in this fourth 2024 leg of the Circuit.

Due to the fact that the day coincided with “Noche del Pescaíto”, an event that marks the beginning of the Sevilla Fair, there was no prize-giving ceremony. For this same reason, a gifts raffle was held virtually, with the gifts being displayed with the names of the winners at the chiringuito (hut-style restaurant-bar) on the 10th tee. Delicious refreshments were served here, prepared by the club's catering team and accompanied by several San Miguel beer specialities, which were also enjoyed by players at the 14th and the last hole.

Set up next to the clubhouse entrance and on the course was an exhibition of Hyundai cars presented by the Hyundauto dealership.

Another highlight of the tournament was the excellent collaboration provided by the whole golf club team headed by Gonzalo Goy, with a special mention to caddie master Agustín and Fernando, who helped out on the course.

The 14th San Miguel Andalucía Golf Challenge-Dominican Republic by Globalia is a popular open amateur circuit torganised by Andalucía Golf/España Golf magazine. The circuit will cover all of the Andalucian provinces, as well as Madrid and Mallorca, with most of the legs being played on the Costa del Sol at top-level courses.

The circuit’s grand finale, which will decide the five winners of trips to the Dominican Caribbean, will be played on 28 September at Los Arqueros and will be followed by a gala dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús in Marbella.

Access to the final will be direct for the winner of each category and the scratch winner in each tournament leg, while the remaining places will be awarded according to a ranking based on points obtained in each event.

The next leg of the Circuit is on Saturday 27 April at La Garza.
