Azata Golf has once again hosted a resoundingly successful “sold-out” leg of the SAN MIGUEL ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE-Destination Dominican Republic by Globalia Circuit, which this year is celebrating its 14th edition.

Despite the presence of a considerable number of participants, the pace of play was excellent, while the tournament also enjoyed perfect weather and the speed of the greens was outstanding. The lunch offered after the competition in the clubhouse was served by the catering team that also runs the popular Pez en el Agua beach bar  in Estepona.

Worthy of special mention is the collaboration provided to the tournament by the entire golf club team led by Agustín Alonso.

The prizes for the top players included magnums of wine from Bodegas Marqués de Terán (D.O. Rioja), dozens of Bridgestone balls, and apparel from the Puerto Banús boutique Fairway+blue.

FULL RESULTS

The Azata event was the third of a total of 25 tournaments that make up the 14th edition of this popular open amateur circuit organised by Andalucía Golf/España Golf magazine. The circuit will cover all of the Andalucian provinces, as well as Madrid and Mallorca, with most of the legs being played on the Costa del Sol at top-level courses.

The circuit’s grand finale, which will decide the five winners of trips to the Dominican Caribbean, will be played on 28 September at Los Arqueros and will be followed by a gala dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús in Marbella.

Access to the final will be direct for the winner of each category and the scratch winner in each tournament leg, while the remaining places will be awarded according to a ranking based on points obtained in each event.

The next legs of the Circuit will be on Saturday 13 April at Royal Sevilla Golf Club and 27 April at La Garza.

The Circuit’s grand finale will decide the winners of five one-week, all-inclusive trips to the Sunscape Dominicus La Romana ***** hotel with golf at the spectacular Teeth of the Dog, Punta Espada, Dye Fore and PGA Ocean’s 4. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the final will travel to the Dominican Republic. The final will be held on 21 September and followed by a gala dinner at Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús *****.
