Some of us spend our whole golfing lives seeking the elusive Holy Grail. Others, like primary two student Jack Dunn, take hardly any time at all. The six-year-old became the youngest player to score a hole-in-one at the Bruntsfield Links course in Edinburgh when he holed out on the 134-yard par-three seventh using his driver.

"It was fantastic," he said. "Hopefully, I will have many more." Added club chief executive Dougie Cleeton, "It is quite a talking point among our members. Jack put the traditional bottle behind the bar – albeit Coke – for everyone to celebrate his success."

Jack’s father Jonathan is a member at Bruntsfield – which dates to 1761, is the fourth oldest club in the world and has been a British Open Championship qualifying course – and his four-year-old brother Angus also plays golf.
