The third leg of the 2020 Andalucía Golf Challenge Destination Dominican Republic Ocean’s 4 Bahía Príncipe Circuit held at Valle Romano Golf was another great success, with the number of available entries filled well before the event.

Designed by renowned US golf architect Cabell B. Robinson, the superb Costa del Sol course was in magnificent condition, with its first-class maintenance especially delighting the 116 players taking part. The day started cloudy, but the sun soon appeared, although players still had to contend with the challenge of windy spells from the Levante (easterly).

Organised by Andalucía Golf/España Golf magazine, the popular open amateur circuit is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and – the same as with the past two editions – offers an exceptional grand final prize of five trips to the Caribbean provided by Piñero Group.

Apart from prizes for each tournament (premium-brand apparel from the fairway+blue boutique in Puerto Banús, DO Somontano wines, sports equipment from Holiday Golf, etc.), the top three finishers in each category plus the scratch winner obtain places in the circuit’s grand finale, with the chance of securing one of the five Dominican Republic holidays including flights, transfers, all-inclusive luxury hotel accommodation, and golf at three of the best courses in the Caribbean: Ocean's 4, Teeth of The Dog and Punta Espada.

The top three players at Valle Romano in category one were (in order): Enrique Bravo Ruiz (42 points), Fernando Romero López (39) and Daniele Lorcy (39). Leading the way in category two were Flor Limogni (44), Alberto Fernández Galindo (42) and Cyril Dominicy (41). The scratch winner was Errol Bolayos, with 30 points. As for the special prizes, closest to the pin and women’s longest drive were won by Julia Flada, while the men’s longest drive went to David Carretero, one of the winners of a Caribbean trips in the 2019 edition.

The next scheduled tournaments on the Andalucía Golf Challenge Destination Dominican Republic Ocean’s 4 Bahía Príncipe Circuit are 11 July at Los Arqueros, 16 July at Valderrama, 25 July at Santa Clara Marbella and 29 July at San Roque New Course. Entries are now closed for the first two tournaments, but interested players can still sign up for the other two events.
