Since the Ona Hotels chain took over management of the resort, they have been making a significant investment aimed at improving the leisure facilities and vacation experience for guests.
The resort's director, Javier González Valdearcos, who has extensive hotel management experience in Spain, France and the Caribbean (Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico), explains what the reforms consist of…
“The resort is divided into three sections: north, centre and south. In the central part there was a reception area, a swimming pool, pádel tennis courts and a small bar, but this area was under-sized for the complex’s operations, and for guests to have the feeling that they were in a tourist resort, not a block of apartments.”
So, with that in mind, work has begun to develop this central area into what will be “the heart of the resort’s life”.
The new reception area, much more spacious than the original, will have spectacular views of the golf course, and from that space there will be access to a restaurant and lobby bar. There will also be a pool bar, which will service a terrace and the pool itself, its sun loungers and hammock area. This new central area will also have a solarium a short distance from the pool.
Flanking the resort on its eastern side, there is a road that runs from north to south where restaurants, two children's clubs, two gymnasiums and a spa with thermal circuit, hammam, sauna and massage services are located. “So we will have two leisure areas: the central one with the pool and this one that could be called the boulevard, to stroll around and enjoy all these facilities."
Apart from the aforementioned one in the central area, Ona Valle Romano has two other swimming pools, located at the northern and southern ends of the resort.
